hey guys,

not sure if there sumthin wrong wiv my cali kind or not.

over the past week or so she her water seems to be going down very rapidly (suggesting she is drinkin a lot) and she is spending a lot of time in her water bowl.

is this normal? she has just come out of shed a week ago and the temp has not changed in the tank approx 28/29 warm side and 23/24 cool side.

bit worried what do u think?

If your snake has been soaking then you would find some in the water.
Here are some pics of what they look like and the size that they are.

If you do find any bugs then a good check is to crush it with your nail. If it pops with a click and you get blood out then they are probably mites. Also, if you cant see any in the water dish then put a piece of kitchen roll in your hand, wrap your hand round the snakes body and then rub all the way down from its neck to its tail. If it has mites you'll end up with some on the kitchen roll.

I'll not go in to how to get rid of them yet because if you don't find any then its not worth worrying about at the moment.
Fingers crossed for you that its not mites

may just be one of those things to do with the time of year. Bathing a lot can be a sign of mites but I assume you've checked for those? Can't think of anything else really but maybe others will have an idea
