Posted - 20/09/2009 : 16:35:58 hi,
only had snakey for a day now but have noticed she doesnt seem to use the hides much. they are 2 halves of coconut. i have a plastic plant stuck to the side of the tank and she spends time in or under that or the aspen. could it be that the coconut halves are too big for her to feel secure?? if so i can just cut the coconuts down a bit.
thanks mark |

Posted - 21/09/2009 : 10:57:54 evra is like that Lee- she's got 2 hides, one that is the right size and one that's too small. Guess which one she spends most time in
I would save both the coconut hides and make some smaller ones out of toilet tubes and plastic coffee lids with a arch cut into them (I find Cadbury's hot chocolate lids are best for this). Easy and free to do and at least you'll still have your bigger hides for later. It won't take long for her to grow into them. |

Posted - 20/09/2009 : 18:35:46 Snakes like to be able to feel the sides of the hide when they curl up as it makes them feel more secure. I would probably cut just one of the coconuts down so that you still have one for when your snake gets bigger |
