Got Jasmin out last night and found a mite crawling on her. Looked in her water dish and couldn't find any but looked in her hide and found 5 or 6 crawling on the sides.
May get a few pics later. I've checked the others and haven't found anything but I have given them all a wipe and sprayed frontline in their vivs in case there may be any lurking or possibly some eggs.
I can't understand where they have come from though. I last cleaned her faunarium out 3 weeks ago but only used kitchen roll as substrate because I'd run out of Aspen and have just been replacing the kitchen roll when she messes then the plan was that I would put her back on Aspen next week when she needs cleaning out again. That plan is out now, she'll have to stay on kitchen roll a while longer. Nothing else new has been introduced to the viv. Any ideas?
Anyway, I'll keep you all updated with the fight |

Sounds like you may be lucky though Mart.
I'm only joking BE, they could've come from anywhere - I'm just glad he's managed to get rid so quick too |

No, all feeds are frozen.
Still has her apetite as well |

I'm sure that Hercules and Athena came with them because they showed up in a couple of weeks, but I bought Jasmin on the 5th March so I think she must have got them some other way |

Posted - 02/05/2009 : 11:35:01 I don't think they came from York because Sylar doesn't have any. As long as i get rid of them then I don't really care where they came from.
Checked on all of the snakes again this morning and I can't see a single mite. This includes Jasmin's faunarium and the RUB that I bought for her to go in while I treated her Faunarium. Perhaps I've been ridiculously lucky and caught them early enough. |

Posted - 01/05/2009 : 20:53:30 There's always a possibility of mites being passed on at any place where loads of snakes meet, but I don't think Daz and MB's mites will be York Rep night ones.
Not unless Sylar has brought them back?
I think it's more likely that MB bought Jasmin with them and Daz's rescue came with them too.
Just checked Tempo and he seems clear. He was the last snakey we took to York. |
