Posted - 22/04/2009 : 02:45:58 Ive been away for a bit been busy with stuff and just had a few quick questions about my king.
1. do you guys change the things that are in the viv I have a few hides for him but he or should that be she seems more interested in digging under the wood chips and hiding.
2. how often do you change the bedding in the tank.
Iam asking has i used to do it every week but this stressed the snake and he would attack every time the tank was cleaned just wondered if this could cause health problems if i leave it to long.
well better go the dog and the snake are trying to stare each other out.
p.s he shed a few days back managed to get it out in one go it measured in at 34 inches |

Posted - 24/04/2009 : 20:05:53 I've seen it on somewhere, probably one of the Sky channels, Gold or similar. I'll have a look and if I find it I'll post. I used to like it but my partner just thinks it's silly. I vaguely remember one episode where they'd jumped/fallen off a train and had to make their way across the moors handcuffed to a door? |

Posted - 22/04/2009 : 18:48:13 I do move things round a bit every now and then but don't actually give my snakes different hides.
I clean my snakes out once a month but spot clean as soon as I see anything. |

Posted - 22/04/2009 : 14:23:20 I don't have different hides, but I do change them around every time I clean out the viv just for a bit of variety. Might put the odd cardboard tube in too.
I clean the kings out every 3-4 weeks because they tend to be dirtier than the corns. I've got one Corn that can go 6-8 weeks between cleans and I still feel like I'm doing it for the sake of it. |

Posted - 22/04/2009 : 06:14:41 1. I don't bother as I really don't think they are bothered. Snakes do not have human emotions, they do not get "bored". Burrowing in substrate is normal behaviour.
2. Monthly substrate change and viv disinfection with regular spot cleaning of faeces in-betweem.
Well done on the shed. Remember the length of the shed skin is always longer than the snake as it stretches when shed! |
