Here is Lucien, a CB06 California Kingsnake, who arrived yesterday. He is very friendly and inquisitive. He weighs in at 702 grams. He is already a father to several jungle corn snakes, but his breeding days are over now he is with me, I have no room for more!
This quote is from Mancunians post in the piccy section, but it relates to a question I have.
If he is a father to Jungles corns and he is a king snake, Why aren't they just Corn and king snake crosses? Or is there other stuff involved? I'm just curious how a Male king can be mated with a (assuming) female Corn and they call it a jungle Corn. Are the female corns genes stronger than the male kings, giving it a more corn snake look? |

each parent is usually run with another of it's own species then the male/female substituted at last minute to get a successful mating.
However when that is not done you end up with a well fed king

Posted - 09/03/2009 : 19:28:34 and male kings tend to be more aggressive when mating, biting and such. easiest way to produce jungles is corn male and cali female |
