I now have my viv sorted.

It's not as big as I thought so I've changed my mind on the type of snake I will get. I was going to go for an Eastern King but I think the viv will be too small as they can get quite big. The viv is 24" wide, 15" deep and 15" tall. So I'm going for a Florida King instead.

The viv came with a silk vine thing, a good knarly piece of log, hide, water bowl and a heat mat but no Stat.

So to the advice!

1. Is the viv ok for what I want?
2. The heat mat is a HabiStat 11"x11". Is this ok?
3. Will a Microclimate Ministat 100 be suitable?
4. I've seen various info online about heat mats. Is this one suitable to go under the substrate or does it need to go under the viv?
5. How deep should the substrate be? I can get up to 3.25" in the viv.

Thanks in advance for any answers! Sorry if they seem a bit daft but I want to do this right as it's my first snake. Last thing I want to do is screw it up and harm the snake.
Any other advice is also welcome!

Cheers

I second this the habistat will cut in within 2c what you have at the moment works within I think 4 or 5c

The on/off stat would be enough BUT viv size is only good for grown on hatchlings a 2ft viv is to small for any adult king snake
