As a snake newb I just need a couple of things answered!

Rub? Seen this in a few posts. What is it?

Stat I'v worked out that this is a thermostat and is very important (seen the 'orrible photos showing why they are important!). Can they be fitted to any heat mats or do I need to get a HMat with one built in?

I only ask as I'm getting a setup with heat mats etc for nothing from a friend. 4'x2' should be ok for a Cali or Florida King?

Cheers

When you are setting the temp on the stat take note of the temp reading via digital temp probe on the heat mat NOT what your stat says

No problem. Wish I had generous pals like that.

Fire away with anything else you are uncertain about.
Of course you know that photos are compulsory once you get set up.

RUB is the brand name of plastic boxes with lids, Really Useful Box Co.
Folk use the term RUB when talking about lidded boxes in general.

The Habistat 100 watt Mat Stat will suit any size or make of heat mat.
The Habistat 11"x17" 20 watt mat will probably do fine.
Throw in a digital thermometer for accurate temp reading & setting.

HTH.
