Posted - 10/02/2012 : 02:49:28 Sorry guys for the barrage of questions, but I have a small concern with Kage. Her setup is a wooden viv with a red heat bulb, and I also have a small mat in there to top the warm end up a wee bit because my room can get quite cold. The mat is on a stat, so it doesn't come on too often. As it turns out, even with 4 hides in her viv, her favourite spot to curl up is under the substrate, under the mat. This means she's in direct contact with it for prolonged periods of time, although as I say, if it gets above 28 or 29 it switches off. Should I be concerned about this? And what can I do to prevent it if so? |

If it's on a stat I wouldn't be worried. Do you have a digital thermometer as well, just to verify the temps are ok? If not I use one of these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260431510214?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 (cheaper from Surrey Pet Supplies) and it just gives you an extra piece of mind.
