So Im setting up the RUB for him to live till he can go in the viv.
I am heating using a Pro Rep Heat mat 11 x 11, on a ministat 100. Now i assume i should be measuring the temperature with the thermometer on top of the substrate, as oppose to under it.
Just some information ive got.
Ministat at 80F = 75.4F on substrate
Ministat at 84F = 76.5F on substrate
Ministat at 88F - 77.7F on substrate
What sort of temperature am i looking at for ideal settings?

You shouldn't have that much substrate on the hot side to make that much of a difference anyway, just a sprinkle is best and measure the base of the RUB. I set my hot side to 30c for my mbk. If you read the common king sheet on this site it will help you :) |

you are best measuring the temps from the hottest part of the rub which will most likely be the base, snakes will burrow in the substrate so is better having that as the hottest part. |
