Posted - 27/09/2011 : 14:32:40 I was feeding Murray a couple of days ago and he didnt seem interested in the mouse so i left it in there with him for a while and he still didnt eat it. His belly is looking a bit pale so i thought it was because he might be going into shed soon so i took him out of his feeding tub to put him back in his viv. I held him for a bit first and then thought i would try feeding him while he was in my hands, i didnt think he would actually take it but i thought it was worth a try, so i picked up a mouse and held it in front of him and he striked and ate it without hesitation! It was an amazing experience to have him eating while in my hands! Im guessing that means he is quite comfortable with me because snakes are at their most defenceless when they're eating?
And yesterday was the month aniversary of getting Murray, how time flies! I actually can belive how attached i have gotten to him in a month! |

Posted - 04/10/2011 : 10:56:48 I just fed him today and i think he is getting the hang of this kingsnake business at last! He always used to strike at his food but wouldn't constrict it, but he just did his first almost-constrict for the first time :) I am so proud :P |

haha i stil used tweezer things to hold the mouse but he was in my hands while i did it. i dont think he realises he's a kingsnake anyway, he's so friendly and has never hissed or tail rattled or anything :)
See guys, not all are meanies! Some love the snuggles!
Even when he was in blue he still let me pick him up and was just as friendly |

He can't be a real kingsnake then.
I am forced to use tongs to feed otherwise I risk losing my arms.
Hahah i am just waiting for the day when he realises he is a kingsnake and bites me when im not expecting it |

Same as above for me though. As much as Mort's calmed in the last month I still wouldn't go near him with food around without very long tweezers.
Lol at you having a snake called Mort! I have to say after seeing the way Vader goes for his food theres not a chance of me getting my hands anywhere near him at feeding time. |
