.....Should I use the 7 day rule? Marv is due a feed today but I only brought him home on Monday. He was out and about last night having a sniff around and looked like he was hunting but this morning he is hidden away again.

Should I give him a feed later or leave him. I can't wait to feed him and see if it's more exciting than Nimbus but if it's best to wait then I will do

I think the 7 day rule is a sensible one for new owners, however i think more experienced keepers can decide themselves if a snake is settled or not.

Out of my 2 2010 hatchies, the bloodred stripe settled straight away and i handled him after 2 days. However the caramel was alot harder to settle in and was very shy and skittish for a few days, i left him to settle for about 10 days i think.

Well, I decided to do it!

Got him out and he was as friendly as ever. Put him in a feeding tub and offered him (using tongs) a warm fuzzy and BAM! super fast strike then a fantastic constrict :) Was awsome to watch. He also eats in a completely different way to Nimbus. He used his body alot more and used his coils to hepl hold the fuzzy still while he swallowd it. I'm so happy.

He was really alert afterwards and no doubt if I had tried to put my hand in the feeding tub he would have tagged me but I let him slide out on his own back into his rub.

Well impressed with Kings so far. Can see me getting a few more of these beauties :)
