Posted - 08/01/2011 : 18:29:14 Can anyone offer some info please, my sons two year old king snake has shed and inside the skin is what looks like a runny poo! We have had him since he was smaller than a pencil and this is the first time he has ever done this! His skin came off in one piece and he is now in good form however before he shed he seemed a bit too quiet, he normally turns his nose up at food to let us know he is going to shed but he did not seem himself at all and went into his hide and we did not see him come out for about six days. Because we were worried we peeped in and he was very doppey almost like he had been woken from hibernating, very slowly lifted his head and lowered it and went back to same state. Because he was about to shed I thought he might feel safer in the smaller space cos of not being able to see very well but then when he did come out toay to shed he had like I said a runny poo inside the skin. He has eaten vigerously and appears to be back to himself, should I be worried? Any onfo of advice very much appreciated, thanks. |

Posted - 13/01/2011 : 16:07:00 I also have found the occassional poo inside a shed skin. It's awful when it happenes, especially if you don't see it and put your hand right into the pooey stuff when you are picking up an innocent looking shed, but I don't think it's anything to worry about. |

Posted - 08/01/2011 : 19:17:12 could possibly just be down to shedding. Keep an eye on him and see what his poo is like this time round since he has shed. |
