I was feeding Silas today, the way I always do. I put the mouse on top of the stone in his viv after letting him realise what it is and then sit back and enjoy watching him devour it.

This time (as has sometimes happened before) he struck for the mouse whilst I still had hold of it, but for some reason he let go and went for my arm instead. Moving the fastest I've ever seen him move, he chased my arm out of the viv and then jumped to try and get me again. He ended up out of the viv on my couch, and then struck for me again and ended up on the floor :S
At this point, he stopped and was looking round as if to say "Where am I? How did I get here?"
I stayed calm enough for me to pick him up and put him back in his viv where his mouse was still on the stone. I went to use the bathroom and when I came back to him, he was eating the mouse but tail-first instead of head-first :S

Obviously I am going to change the way I feed him from now on, but my question is 'Is it safe for him to eat the mouse tail-first?'

It's over 4 hours since he ate, and he seems fine and hasn't regurgitated, it just worried me slightly as he's always managed to orientate the mouse to eat it head-first.

Hopefully i'm worrying over nothing.

If there's no noticable bump after he eats you could move him up to mediums. Every 7 days is fine....you wouldn't want to feed him more often. Kings would eat everyday if you let them, they're always 'hungry' lol

Yeah i'm gonna try feeding him out of the viv next time to see if that makes a difference.

I was only just putting the mouse in when it happened so he could definately smell it, lol.

Do you think 1 small adult mouse every 7 days is enough for him? My dad seemed to think it's because he's hungry.

He's 36" and 227g.

Yea eating tail first won't do him any harm.
You might want to consider feeding him in a separate tub, then putting him back in after he's ate.
By any chance did you not wash your hands after handling the mouse? If not then your movement, plus the mouse scent, probably made him think your arm was food.

I meant to say 'he stayed calm enough for me to put him back in' lol, I was still on an adrenaline rush from seeing him go for me like that, lol.
