Posted - 31/03/2010 : 11:24:48 i have recently got a 2 foot wooden vivarium to house my nelsons milksnake, i have got an 11" x 11" heat mat, a thermostat and a digital thermometer with 2 probes. my question is do i lay the thermostat probe and one thermometer probe directly on the heat mat and the cover the whole lot with a thin layer of aspen, or do the probes go on top of the substrate? i would imagine the snake would be burrowing into the aspen so would come in contact with the heat mat, is this ok? one more, what temperature should i set the thermostat to, is between 85 - 90 ok? |
