Posted - 24/03/2010 : 23:01:03 Hello all, I have lately been wanting to improve my king snake's cage. I have him in a 10 gallon tank that did not come with a top, and bought the top separately (it's one of those sturdy metal ones with metal mesh). It fits on the cage, but there's no way to lock or latch it, and to keep him from escaping I've kept a stack of books on it so he can't push open the top. I've been wanting to change this. Does anyone know of any DIYs on how to put a latch on a cage top, or how to make it secure? I checked the DIY page and didn't find anything.
Any help appreciated!

Posted - 30/03/2010 : 10:54:30 Is it a glass tank? Can you get a couple pics of the tank and the lid. People may be able to suggest things then.

Posted - 30/03/2010 : 09:41:08 I've not got a guide yet, but me and Lewy are currently trying to devise a way to put a secure lid on our salamander tank.
We've just spent months building up a fake rock back ground and planting up the tank, only to find out the sals are actually fantastic climbers when they haven't got just glass walls
Doh!
If we think up a great way of doing it I'll let you know.
