Posted - 01/03/2010 : 17:32:20 I've fed my snakes mice that have had frost burns in the beginning. However I would reccomend finding a supplier that doesn't have mice with such burns. I not sure if anything can be damaged to your snake, however like I said, I'd much prefer healthy, well-fed mice for my snakes. Interms of UV lighting, this is not needed. So they say, they cannot absorb anything from the lighting, which in my opinion is not needed and just more electrics and more bills to pay. If you want to use lighting, I would reccomend something very dim, nothing to bright. Your'll find that if you go ahead with lighting, Most Lampropeltis are nocturnal, and will not be out in the day, again in my opinion, pointless. Saying that, if the room has no windows, a light of some sort to produce a photo-period can't be a bad thing.
