Just wanted to ask about handling. I got Rorschach(Cali King) last Thursday and was wondering if Wednesday is too soon to try and handle him. Its just that I will be feeding him this Thursday and so would have to wait till Sunday to then handle. He is always out exploring his tank and he usually comes to the front of the tank if you peek in so he doesn't seem frightened, although when I changed his water yesterday he did go into his hide but was back out exploring again with a couple of minutes.
Appreciate any help.
Cheers,
Mart |

Posted - 09/02/2010 : 22:10:57 The general advice is to leave your snake for a week or two before handling or feeding as they can get stressed by a move and this can lead to snakes not feeding/regurging food. A lot of owners find this difficult and start to handle and feed their snakes earlier but obviously you need to consider the risks before doing this |

Posted - 09/02/2010 : 15:42:45 you can handle him before the feed..thats what i did with my corns and my king..i left them for the week but got them out for about 10-15mins before feeding them.. that way i got to handle them and then feed them on the same day but having said that if hes been completely left alone for the week then i dont see why a really (and i mean really) short handle wouldnt be a problem |
