Hiya my name is Zadie and I am a final year vet student living in london at the moment! I own a variety of pets including 4 ferrets, 4 african pygmy hedgehogs, 2 horses, 2 snakes and a cat.
I have recently got into snakes with much support from my friends and family, I especially have an interest in king snakes.

My first 2 snakes are a mexican black king and a california king, I've had them a few weeks now. They were originally a breeding pair, however I have no intention of breeding them, so they are now separated.
They have amazing temperaments, Breeze will try and have a wee nibble, especially if she's due a feed (bit like most kings so I'm told) but nothing nasty, both are feeding well, and Breeze has shed perfectly just this last week!
Here are a few pics for you.....

I can see why :o I am very surprised. Bit weird that they would sell two different types of king as a breeding pair too. They are very lucky to be with you now!

Yea they were living together and had been for the last 3 years without eating each other apparently......I was very very shocked to be honest, I only wanted the female, but was persuaded to get the pair as they were being sold as a pair.
After a week or so of them living together and me waking up each moring expecting to find just one extra large snake, I got a temp RUB set up for Breeze which she is in now, its a good size 70L one with a good footprint, I would ultimatly like 2 viv set ups though when ive got the cash :-)

Hiya and welcome.
If they did live together, I am impressed that one didn't try to eat the other as their natural prey is snakes. Sounds like you were lucky.
Kings are superb, well done for getting some the only issue you have now is the slippery slope you have just started on in reptile keeping.
And woo for the carpet sharks as well.

Hi and welcome here! Lovely snakes specially the MBK!

When you said they were a breeding pair and you separated, did this mean they lived together? :o

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I love MBK's! Both your kings are gorgeous.

Your little hedgehogs are so cute too, love the pic of Spice!
