Posted - 31/05/2010 : 06:29:44 Hi danny welcome to the forum, im also on cornsnake forum. I got a banded cali king in march and he/she is so good natured though for the first couple of weeks i did think it was a smelly snake due to when i lifted the lid on its rock it was abit whiffy then i found out they musk when they feel threatend. They also like to climb so a viv with a bit of height is good. good luck for whatever you choose to get. im now considering an albino king. |

Posted - 21/05/2010 : 19:46:41 Welcome to the site. As for knowing lots about corns, very few people over there actually do, they all think they do though. haha
Cali kings are a good choice, to be honest all kings are.
Mexican blacks are not a morph, they are a totally different snake from a cali king. Don't let the king name fool you, they are not all the same. There are lots of different species within the king banner.
As for the care of kings, they need very similar conditions to a corn snake, just slightly warmer temperatures... this varies between the species though so do your homework. Do not necessarily trust the care sheets on this site either, they are not what i would call particularly accurate when it comes to temps.
